This must have taken forever! I'm getting a new appreciation of cosplaying here on deviantart, it seems you have to know a bit of everything in order to do it.
For this costume, you'd need to mod a wig, sew leather, stud leather, make armor, and then, pose! (and probably a lot of other things as well)
I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Yes, it took quite a lot of time to make this costume. I made it in two months, 14-16 hours per every day, no weekends or other holidays. This costume has definitely required the most from me out of all my costumes. I've made Fran from Final Fantasy XII and it took me about a half year to finish, but I still could make it on/off and had time to do other things, too. I finished Flemeth a little over a week ago but my body is still recovering from all the work, so yes, it really is something I don't want to experience right away again. :'>
I'm glad you see cosplay that way, it really is quite hard work. :>

Kiitos mukavasta kommentista!

\: D/ Kiitos! Joo, armorit on worblaa.

I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing that I didn't even recognize you in the contest, but either way this was and is an amazing costume! I remember you being so stressed about this whole thing earlier but I knew you could do it!

I think it's great if people didn't recognize me. To me it shows that I can be protean and don't always look the same. Thank you!
Yeah, I was stressed until the last moments of finishing the costume in time, because with my FF XII Fran (the one and only competition costume I'd made before this one) I failed to finish it in time. I hated the feeling so much and because of that the 2011 Desucon was not fun at all, I had to cancel the competition there for my part. Luckily there was still Nekocon and Tracon coming up so I could compete with it later on if I wanted to. With this costume competing later would've been really difficult since the next time I could compete with it would be the summer of 2014. I didn't know if I would/could go to Fanfest or Yukicon and at Frostbite I couldn't compete with a western character. So I'm really happy it all turned out well!

Aw yeah, that's right, I know what you mean. Even if people wouldn't see the mistakes etc. in your costume it's nerve racking even if you know. After every convention I find things I need to fix in my costumes, but it's okay, cause if I couldn't see what I did wrong, I couldn't get any better.

I remember seeing your Fran costume in Nekocon back then and though it was amazing! And I'm really happy you could finish your costume in time.

Is there some rules that you can't compete with western characters in anime/manga conventions? :o I don't really know anything about competing since I have never done it and probably never will..

Yeah, I too have some minor things I need to fix with my Flemeth costume for the next time I'll wear it. I'm planning on wearing it at Yukicon, but I think I'll have to properly think it through. I'm supposedly judging the cosplay competition there, so wearing such a "restrictive" costume while working might be painful. Though I don't know. If I survived the competition just hanging around and not sitting too much at Tracon, I don't really see why I wouldn't be able to do that at Yukicon. Anyway, I'm really glad my costume survived Tracon pretty much totally unharmed.

Ah, and thank you for the compliment concerning Fran!

Yes, there actually are. Some conventions are totally and utterly based on Japanese culture and therefore western characters are restricted from taking part in the cosplay competitions. Desucon is one (the only even, not sure if Animecon has these rules?) of these conventions. Both Hall Cosplay and Performance competitions have this rule, but for example EuroCosplay qualification didn't have the rule this year, because the Championships are in London MCM Expo and it wouldn't really be fare from Desucon to put boundaries opposing the actual Championships rules.

But then again, is any good cosplay costume that comfortable, haha. But I think you'll be fine with the costume if it's just easy to sit and move with it. And you shouldn't keep that good looking of a costume in a closet!

Oh okay. I know the lead organizer of Animecon and he likes the con to be for both western and Japanese culture, but then again I don't know who makes the rules. Desucon doesn't really surprise me.
